The last ruler of the great Seljuq dynasty was Ghiyasuddin Abu Shuja Muhammad. The base of which was the region of Takht Marwa al-Nahr, he also ruled over the regions of Khorasan, Iran and Iraq. Finally, it was destroyed by Shahnaz Khwarazm in 511 AH according to 1118 AH.

With the collapse of the Seljuk Empire from beyond the Nile, the Seljuks fell into disunity. And their unity was divided. Their power weakened to such an extent that the Seljuqs devolved into several factions and conflicting armies that vied with each other for the throne. The great Seljuk Empire was transformed into small emirates and states. And these emirates and kingdoms were not ready to accept the authority of a single Sultan as united under Tughril Beg Sultan Alp Arslan, Malik Shah and his predecessors. Each region was autonomous. Each had its own ruler and there was no cooperation between them.

As a result of this disunity, another power emerged in Marawa-ul-Nahar. It was the Khwarazmi Empire that resisted the Mongol invasions for a long time. The Seljuk emirates, along with the Khwarizmi Empire, were established in northern Iraq and Syria. Which was known as Atabak Emirate. During this period, the Seljuk Roman Empire emerged.

It was the empire that stopped the Crusades and kept the north-west corner of Asia Minor safe from enemy invasion. But this empire could not withstand the rampant attacks of the Mongols and eventually, these marauders wreaked havoc in these areas.

There were several factors that contributed to the downfall of the Seljuk Empire and these factors proved to be the forerunners of the downfall of the Abbasid Caliphate

Some of these factors are: Season 2 Alp Arslan

1) The struggle for the throne among brothers, uncles, sons and grandsons within the Seljuk family.

2) Inciting the fire of sedition and corruption among the Seljuk rulers by the grudging nobles, ministers and Atabaks.

3) Involvement of women in government affairs.

4) The Abbasid caliphs were weak and powerless in front of the Seljuk military leadership and recognized the rule of every powerful Seljuk Tajur and allowed his name to be included in the sermon and did not take care in this regard.

5) The failure of the Seljuk Empire to unite Syria, Egypt and Iraq under the banner of the Abbasid Caliphate.

6) The Saljuqs were divided into different groups and always fought against each other. That was the end of their power and the end of their empire in Iraq.

7) The nefarious conspiracies of the insiders against the Seljuk Empire and their continuous attempts to kill the Seljuk sultans by deception and bloody attacks.

8) Clash of crusaders coming from across the sea and Seljuk Empire with barbarian armies coming from Europe.

Apart from this, there were many other reasons.

But there is no denying that during his reign he accomplished great feats, some of which are listed below.

1) The fall of the Abbasid Caliphate was delayed by two centuries thanks to the Seljuk Empire. Had it not been for the Seljuqs, the Abbasid Caliphate would have been destroyed long ago by the Shia Rafizis.

Due to the power of the Ubaid Fatimi Seljuqs, the empire of the Egyptians could not gather the Arab Muslims of the East under the banner of the Ubayd Rafizi Empire and their nefarious goals were not fulfilled.

3) The attempt of the Seljuq Empire was the prelude and forerunner of the unification of the Islamic East and this unification was completed by Sultan Salah al-Din Ayyubid under the banner of the Sunni Abbasid Empire.

4) The Seljuks played a major role in the intellectual and administrative development of the region under their control. And established peace and order in this area.

5) Resisted the Crusades by the Byzantine Empire and tried to deal with the Mongol threat to a great extent.

6) Promoted Sunni religion in these areas and raised the status of Sunni scholars.
